I can’t recommend this deli highly enough it’s an absolute gem! The choice of food is incredible, with something to tempt everyone. I went for the antipasti board and it was massive packed with fresh, flavourful ingredients and beautifully presented. My friend had the beetroot and feta salad, which looked amazing (and tasted just as good as it looked!). The soup smelt absolutely delicious too it added to the warm, inviting feel of the whole place. What’s brilliant is that you can buy so many of the products they serve on the menu to take home. The chilli peanut butter is honestly addictive, and the olives are the best I’ve ever had. I’m going to stock up for Christmas hampers and gifts. The service is second to none friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere is lovely: warm, buzzing and relaxed. Everything is spotless and really well looked after, which makes it an even nicer place to sit and enjoy your food. A fantastic experience all round I’ll definitely be back!

What a truly great little place this is. We went in twice during our stay in Dartmouth and really enjoyed it on both occasions. The first time we went in for a hot drink and a cake and the second time we had a light lunch. It's sort of half deli and half eatery. It's got such a good relaxed vibe about it and the food and drink is delicious. It's the sort of place you could easily spend time in. It is quite small though so getting a table requires luck or timing or both! From our perspective, this was one of the nicest informal places to eat in the town. Great food, lovely service and a relaxing place to be.

Lovely cafe; knowledgeable about GF and make substitutions. Had a pastrami bagel (but on a lovely tiger roll) and the children shared a salami and mozzarella one. Had a number of GF cakes (stored on top shelf above normal cakes) and were happy to make adaptions to accommodate

Lovely small cafe with a huge range of food and drinks. The presentation is very smart and the decor very rustic and classy. The flat white coffee was the best I’ve tasted in the area and we were all very impressed by the lovely Olive section in the centre of the cafe. I would highly recommend Smith Street Cafe and Deli to anyone who wants to have a relaxing drink and nibble in beautiful Dartmouth.

A really lovely deli and cafe just up from the quayside and well worth seeking out. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Interesting blackboard menu with deli boards, bagels and bruschetta. However we had the Devon cream tea and it was delicious. Warm, light, rich tasting scone, really thick clotted cream, and local jam, with a hot drink. A lovely holiday treat.

Great local delicious produce, reasonable price. The coffee was excellent as were the Deli Boards that we had……didn’t have much room for desert but tried the sour cherry cake and lemon and Lime cake, so glad we did as both moist and very delicious. Would highly recommend

The cream tea is amazing! We did a detour just to have the fruit scones again before heading back to London. We also had lunch there and the food was lovely. Would definitely recommend!

We go in here everytime we come to Dartmouth. The standard and choice of food is outstanding. The owners have meticulous attention to detail and are the perfect hosts. The selection of olives is wonderful and they also cater for gluten free customers. The coffee preparation is second to none and is always very tasty. They do various breads, a variety of which we had with our spicy soup which was up there with the best ever. It's not the biggest place and if you like privacy this is not the place for you. They have a selection of daily papers to read whilst enjoying a piece of cake or a breakfast or brunch....or just a refreshing cuppa. Anything goes!

I’m from Dartmouth and definitely regard myself as a local…but like many, I earn my living away. I’m back in Dartmouth for the summer and the best-start to my day is coffee and/or brunch in Smith Street deli. Fabulous coffee and food, wonderful, welcoming and helpful staff. An all round super atmosphere. This cafe is a favourite of locals…and for good reason!! ❤️.

Visited here on a very hot day, in between the steam train/ferry trip we were on. Everywhere close to the ferry was packed to the gills and I’m glad, as we probably wouldn’t have walked further and found this tiny gem. Excellent cream teas were had, and very much enjoyed - the service was friendly without being intrusive - we did not feel rushed - all in all a very pleasant experience.

We always look forward to our annual visit to Smith Street Deli, especially my son who loves the antipasti - and the fact the staff have always gone out of their way to accommodate his severe dietary allergies. Nearly everywhere else in Dartmouth he is turned away but not here, that means a lot - thank you Smith Street team for your warm welcome, going the extra mile - and for the great selection of high quality food and drink. Dartmouth is a better place because of you!
